A regular field trip that Midtown loves to organize to flaunt their students, despite everything that had happened in the last one. But this time, it was to Stark Industries, one of the safest places in the world. Nothing could happen, right?
But as the group approaches the building, Peter’s Spidey-senses hum to life, a low consistent buzz like the usual microwaves in the air he occasionally sensed when his senses go into overdrive. Not a good feeling but harmless all the same. He figures it must be just his nerves.
What he didn't expect was to be caught in an explosion and trapped in a elevator with his class, his hearing stripped away from him.

“Do I make you nervous, Smitty?” John teased with a brow raised, staring at him while looking almost genuinely curious.
Smitty gulped, anxiety twisting into a knot in his chest.
His crush wasn’t that obvious, right?
Him and John kept eye contact for a good minute, just staring silently.
Does he know? Was the horrifying thought that entered Smitty’s mind. He really didn’t want to be rejected.
“I’m just messing with you.” John punched his shoulder with a grin on his face, ending the awkward silence between them.

Summary
Smitty takes his hands away from the keyboard then turns his chair towards Puffer. “Not really. I feel fine.”
“Uh huh.. And yet you look like you’re about to pass out.” Puffer crossed his arms, an unconvinced look on his face.
He turned his head away from the other’s stare, unsure if he had eye bags or not.
“To be honest I drank like- so many caffeinated sodas and none of them helped.” He groaned, a hand on his forehead. “Even stole two of Matt’s energy drinks and they didn’t work either.”
“It’s because you’re tired. How long has it been since you last slept?” Puffer came closer, shutting the door on his way in. His hip now rested against the side of Smitty’s desk.
“Um.” Smitty thought, fingers tapping his desk as he did. Puffer shook his head, sighing and rubbing a hand down his face under his glasses. “It’s been like- three days? Four?” He guessed, it’s been a long time he knows that.
“Andddd there’s the reason.”

Droid nodded to them, scanning his surroundings before he finally met Pezzy’s awaiting eyes.
He waved, a grin on his face as he came forward.
He left the bag full of gifts down by the Christmas tree that Yumi had helped Matt and John set up earlier while setting the pack of beer down onto the coffee table for later use.
Pezzy perked up, a giddy expression now present on his face at the sight of his other half.
Droid bent down, capturing Pezzy in a hug to fully greet him.
Smitty smirked, standing up and walking away from the two to leave them alone for now.
