It's disgusting that kami ever made a man so beautiful as Madara Unchiha. It must be another punishment, another taunting reminder of the unnatural degenerate Tobirama was born as. One of his many abnormalities.
You can only see someone so well as a small child, sword in hand and blood pumping loud against your eardrums or on the battlefield where the debris and constant threat keeps your head on a swivel. From the second Tobirama saw Madara at the establishment of Konohagakure, he understood gravely that his beauty would haunt his every defenseless second.

Summary
Tobirama can see Madara's sanity slipping, can feel it in his chakra. The only way he can fix this is by bringing Izuna back, but Hashirama had banned him from using Edo Tensei.
Well, not just Edo Tensei. Hashirama had explicitly banned him from creating life in any way other than using "natural methods".
So perhaps this new plan of his would be bending the rules a bit, but surely Hashirama wouldn't mind if it meant that he could keep his best friend?
Now, he just had to figure out how to get Madara to play his part...
