Summary
Serious Summary:
It wasn't Nie Mingjue who was ambushed at Yangquan and later captured and taken to the Nightless City.
It was Lan Xichen.
However, Lan Xichen possessed more auxiliary skills than Nie Mingjue.
He was able to breach the encirclement and escape, albeit heavily injured.
Crack Summary:
Everyone knows that Lan Xichen has been pursuing Wei Wuxian from Nanhai to Beijiang, from the Eastern Sea to the Western Mountains, across the Central Plains. But no one knows the reason why.
Lan Xichen, "Tell me where the person is."
Wei Wuxian, "What are you going to do?"
Lan Xichen, "Takes responsibility."
Or:
Those days when Lan Xichen pestered Wei Wuxian to ask about the whereabouts of the "lady" whom he spent a Spring Night with during the Sunshot Campaign.
Wei Wuxian, "..."
If I tell him, it's not a lady, but 'Five Finger-Ladies', will he kill me in rage?Series

Summary
“You’re younger than I remember,” Jiang Cheng says. Draped in deep indigo robes with the majestic Yunmeng Jiang lotus crest, Jiang Cheng looks every bit the formidable clan leader to behold. “Well, an entire decade has passed between us, now.”
“Has it really?” Wei Ying’s high ponytail bounces softly behind him, much like the carefree Wei Wuxian that Jiang Cheng remembers from another lifetime. “Have you really…lived an entire life now, without me?”
Clan Leader Jiang lowers his gaze. “I don’t know. Truth be told, I, I always thought I’d be living it with you.”
Or, post-canon Wei Ying never quite finds his place in Cloud Recesses. On an unexpected invitation from Clan Leader Jiang, Wei Ying leaves his husband behind and temporarily returns to Lotus Pier, hoping to find the part of himself that he left behind all those years ago.

Summary
“Really, Ryunosuke. Have you taken a look at yourself?”
A beat; Ryunosuke looks anywhere but at him. “Yes.” It’s barely a breath.
Kazuma tugs on Ryunosuke’s wrist, guiding him to turn back around. Then—slowly, slowly, he lets his free hand trail down Ryunosuke’s stomach until it grazes Ryunosuke’s cock through the dress. He’s not hard, no, but the way he gasps holds promise. “Then you know just how filthy you look, don’t you?”

Summary
Shang Qinghua has never met any of the emperor's sons. He has no true interest in meeting them either. He's much happier with a life far removed from the palace, even though the empress seems fond of him. That, of course, isn't enough to keep him from meeting anyone however.
