    Summary

“...Magnus–” Charles' voice was uncharacteristically quiet - merely a whisper.

“No,” Lehnsherr cut off his past friend before he gained a chance to justify his behaviour. (...)

“I’m talking now, Professor,” the magnetism-wielding mutant stressed the academic title, tinting it with admonishing sarcasm. “What the hell were you thinking, Charles? I know naivety lies in your nature, however there’s no way you could have possibly considered the fight for mutant rights to be over, especially at the peak moment you left.”

Stranded in the Ancient Egypt, Magneto and Professor X must work together to learn the mystery of why and how they were thrown into this specific time period (and where are the rest of the X-Men?). With their renewed, close proximity it is difficult to ignore their shared past...

This is a fic inspired by both the X-Men animations and the comics.

During my research for this story I found out that 𓄫𓏏𓄣 - the Ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics for the term joy/happiness in slow translation mean 'wide heart'. That's what inspired the title :)

    Summary

Rhaenea Targaryen, daughter of Baelor Breakspear, is a delicate young woman. Prone to fits of anxiety and tears, her father has long postponed her marriage. Now, as the Ashford Tourney approaches, her father proposes a betrothal between her and her uncle Maekar.

She knows this will not be a marriage built on passion, like her uncle once had with Dyanna Dayne, but when grief hits them both in the aftermath of the Tourney, what was once their duty may bloom into something much deeper.

    Summary

In a way, she thought, it's the fate of the princesses, isn't it? Marrying and sacrificing themselves for the sake of their kingdom. Now, the realm knows it was inevitable. It was always going to happen, whether it to be Paul, or whether it to be Heraklion, or whether it to be somebody else. It was always going to happen, but it doesn't mean that it won't hurt when it does happen. Because even though some things are inevitable, just like deaths, just like births, and just like rebirths, it will hurt all the same, all alone, each time, and every time. Because we are humans. Because it doesn't matter in which planet you are living, it doesn't matter what religion you are, what your life looks like, it will hurt all the same.

Because this has always been the fate of women—on Old Terra and across the Known Universe since the dawn of civilization. In every tragedy, their faces are painted and paraded, their suffering catalogued for someone else’s gain. Their stories are forgotten the moment they cease to serve: rewritten by victors, trimmed to fit a narrative, or buried altogether beneath the footfalls of history.
