In all the years since he’d first been drafted up, Wile E. had written many signs that he never intended to reuse. Some situations were just too dire for expressions or cute graphics; some were phrases too specific to ever be used more than once. Those were fine, piled up quietly back home in the cave.

There is a car shop, just by the outskirts of Albuquerque, where the desert meets weathered buildings. There is a mechanic inside, one that has done the exact same thing for almost twenty years, and is slowly wearing out.
One that, despite everything, didn't like to be bothered.Out there there is a spirit akin to his, burdened by a loneliness that shouldn't belong on such young shoulders. No matter how fast, how reckless he can be, the racer can never outrun the hole slowly spreading in the pit of his stomach.
He still tries, nonetheless.And it's exactly in one of those pursuits that one stumbles into the other, and the chase begins.
