Now that she was a little older, her mother had recently had a talk with her, explaining some things about her body and how someday she’d get married to a man; when she did, she would lie in bed with him to give him babies. Falin decided she didn’t mind the idea of that very much, but she wondered why her mother hadn’t talked more about mating that could happen before getting married.
Falin hadn’t asked, feeling too happy that her mother was telling her something so interesting and important. Her mother didn’t talk about things like that a lot, usually too worried over stranger issues that felt less real to Falin. This, though, she understood. And it was okay if her mom couldn’t explain it all, because Falin was smart enough to figure it out for herself.
