Arvid has noticed, in only his first year as a Formula One driver, certain irregularities during race weekends.
Often three drivers, one ex-champion and one reserve driver disappear after each race.
The other drivers regard their disappearances with disdain, with disgust. The grid seems to despise them.The other thing he's noticed is that the increasing disappearances of VIP Paddock members.
Oh, he's the only human on the grid.

“I did tell you I was going to be your teammate one day,” Arvid says, during one interlude, as they walk back to their hotel together, bouncing from conversation topic to topic; one easy segue into another. “And now I am.”
It’s early January; the rain has been relentless, and the wind has been atrocious – their hair flying upwards, when it blows against them; they both look as if they’ve been electrocuted. It’s enough to make Liam bite back a smile – even Red Bull’s golden child, with all his magazine shoot poise, his eloquence – is not immune from a bad hair day.
“And what,” Liam says, half-laughing. “Would you do if we weren’t? What was your backup?”
“There was no backup,” Arvid says simply. “I don’t say things I don’t intend to achieve.”
Liam doesn't date alphas and doesn't date teammates. The former is personal; the latter is common sense. Unfortunately, his current teammate seems to have Opinions™, unvoiced or otherwise, about that.
