Summary
There is a rival circus in town, and Jester sends the Ticket Taker to do some mirror-based spying. This place is a mess, and he’s not sure how it stays running at all until he notices you, an aerial silks dancer cursed with paperwork that shouldn’t be your responsibility and a myriad of bad habits. It occurs to him that there is a very simple way to sabotage this rival: steal you.

You put me in this house / I had to claw right outNearly a year since you started your new life, keeping your head down and avoiding trouble. You were finally starting to get some semblance of normalcy- of complacency- when you throw it all out the window to stop the harassment of a street clown. Now he was showing up everywhere. And in a selfish, twisted way you craved him just as badly as he seemed to crave you.
Eventual Polycirco (aka reader gets w all 5 circus members AND implied all the members are kinda involved to some degree) but starts out VERY Pierrot heavy (w some Harlequin). This was written before day 3 so if there's conflicting canon later, that's why.

WONDERFUL CHARACTER STUDY!!! Harlequin desperately craves love and soft affection, but he actively denies himself the vulnerability of experiencing it. He doesn't believe he deserves it (especially after Columbina) and his actions are a result of self-harm and deprecation. I really like how Harlequin and Pierrot's relationship/dynamic are shown here. Harlequin continues to antagonize and provoke Pierrot into hurting him. Pierrot gets close to having Harlequin bleeding out, but he is stiff. He says Harlequin can't die. He doesn't truly believe he would be able to kill Harlequin.
