Summary
Artemis grabbed Wally by his (broad) shoulders and shoved his chest up against hers. He stumbled into her and looked down, startled, and was clearly about to ask what the hell was going on before Artemis pushed her face up at his and caught his lips in hers. He relaxed for a moment, hands going around her waist out of instinct, and gently parted his lips against hers. It was- pleasant. Surprisingly pleasant.
And then Wally snapped backed into his senses and almost blew the cover off the whole damn thing. He jerked his head back from Artemis’, and only her death-grip on his shoulders kept them from separating.
“Artemis,” he hissed, “what the hell are you doing?”

“Are you okay? You look really cold,” Wally asked concernedly. Which is such a dumb question, because of course she’s cold! It’s like negative twenty out there! Even Wally looks cold, his nose has turned bright red (like… Rudolph, perhaps) and he’s rubbing his hands up and down his very, uhm, nice thighs.
“No, it’s perfectly pleasant over here. I could really go for a popsicle right now, maybe a dip in the harbor,” Artemis responded sunnily. Wally’s face contorted into a little scowl, and that eyebrow wrinkle should not be so adorable.
“Yeah, well I’m worried that you’re about to turn into a human popsicle. Artemis, I seriously think you might be getting hypothermic and we need to do something to stop that. I’m not letting you- Batman would kill me if you turned into an ice sculpture,” Wally said, stumbling over the worlds at the last minute. A ruddy flush began to creep up his neck and meet his ears. Artemis heard the words he didn’t say though- I’m not letting you die again. She swallowed hard but her throat was too dry.

Summary
Artemis has a fight with her mom over not wanting to force a “normal” family dinner for Thanksgiving.
Wally refuses to let her spend Thanksgiving alone in the cave and invites her to his family dinner despite still being mad at her for lying during their last mission.
Artemis knows it’s probably a bad idea but is curious as to what Wally’s family is like, and if, through them she can figure out why the speedster is the way that he is.
