So far, Mike thinks he's been doing a great job at playing pretend. It came to him naturally by now—the art of smiling through things he'd rather not examine too closely.
Boys weren't supposed to be pretty. Especially not ones that were part of a frat house.
In which Mike joins a fraternity believing he has to become someone else to avoid disappointing everyone around him. As he struggles to fit the expectations of masculinity, he begins a journey of confronting the parts of himself he's long buried and discovering who he truly is.

Summary
Living with your childhood best friend and going to college with them was supposed to be fun. A new chapter of your life, where self-discovery took shape in the mundaneness that came along with adulthood—with bills and mails piled up by the front door, and the four walls that enclosed the supposedly comfortable life you've built for yourselves.
Except no one warned Mike Wheeler about the sudden aversion, the made-up excuses and Will's need for distance, like he couldn't bear to be around him anymore.
Change really was the hardest pill to swallow.
Mike and Will seemed to have outgrown each other. While Will's busy moving forward, Mike finds himself still stuck in the past, riddled with guilt—grief catching up to him when he least expects it to.
Maybe a trip back home would be able to fix what they had left.

Summary
Mike never liked the rain.
Whenever it came, disaster was bound to strike in a neverending streamline of shitty situations Mike was all too familiar with.
The gentle pitter patters against his bedroom window was a cruel contrast to the screaming matches downstairs—his parents’ voices cutting through the silence of their perfect home like knives. He could always hear Hollie’s soft, stifled sobs down the hall, and the quiet fury Nancy buried deep within the four walls of her room. That was the first time when the rain decided to greet him and his family a warm hello, and then it just kept coming, day after day after that.
It was suffocating.
Mike confronts his fears that come with adulthood, breaks himself down, and finds the strength to make himself whole again (with a little bit of Will's help of course).

Summary
In all of his twenty years of existence–Mike can admittedly own up to the fact that he's never been a coffee type of guy. The bitterness that settled on his tongue, the way he burnt his mouth several times in all of his sorry attempts to counter its hot temperature, and not to mention the constant association it had with his father, who was a certified caffeine addict–suffice it to say, him and coffee never melded well together.
Or so he thought.
TLDR; Mike was swamped—rushing through deadlines, weighed down by a pounding headache and a relentless cold, running on caffeine and barely any sleep. Luckily for him, Will knows exactly how to take care of him.

“They're not mine, I swear–!”
“Try them on for me, would you?”
What?
“Huh? W-What do you mean try them on–?” Mike stammered nervously, breaking out into a cold sweat.
“Try them on. They seem like your size.” Will says without missing a beat, eyes free from judgement and a knowing look written all over his face, as if he could see right through Mike’s facade as he lied through his teeth. “Unless you wanna give them away?”
He’s so sneaky. Ogling Mike unabashedly, his intentions clear as day behind those brown eyes of his.
And the worst part? Mike would probably indulge him. He’ll give in eventually and put on those stupid heels because it would make Will happy.
And what Mike Wheeler wouldn't give to make Will Byers happy.
So if wearing these goddamn heels would achieve such a thing, then Mike was more than eager to please.
OR; Mike Wheeler tries wearing heels for the first time and discovers a lot about himself. Will likes it on him too apparently.

Summary
