Summary
God, Eddie was glad he wasn't here. He was glad that if anyone had to be on this plane that it was him and not Buck, or Bobby, or Chim, or Hen. But especially not Buck. Buck, who in less than 24 hours was going to have to explain to Christopher what had happened. Who in less than an hour was going to be his son’s legal guardian and he wouldn't even know it. Buck, who was expecting a call soon.
or
When Eddie's plane goes down, he leaves Buck a voicemail telling him how he feels, after all, he was about to die. Only he didn't die. And when he returns, Buck doesn't say anything about the voicemail and Eddie assumes that mean Buck just isn't interested.

Summary
In the background, Buck suddenly hears a voice that distinctly belongs to Chris. "Buck is having a baby?!"
"Chris!" Eddie yelps. "Um, sorry Buck, I'm sure you wanted to be the one to tell him—"
"Put me on speakerphone," Buck demands.
"Yep, yep—actually, can we switch to FaceTime? Honestly, Buck, on what planet is this audio-call news—"
Buck presses the button for FaceTime, and is greeted almost immediately with Eddie's face, who turns the screen to include Chris. Chris looks at Buck with an incredulous expression. "You're having a baby?" he demands. "With who?"
Also known as, the fic where Buck inadvisedly agrees to let his one-night stand name their baby.

Summary
It was fall at the 118. That was supposed to mean pumpkin spice lattes, Athena’s world-famous pumpkin pie, and the yearly tradition of getting bullied by children at the annual firehouse trick-or-treating.
Instead, it was a disastrous cornucopia of Maddie’s pregnancy, the Buckley parents visiting, and a sexuality crisis for good measure.
Oh, and?
It was wildfire season.Series
