Summary
“My name is James, what—”
“Lestat,” Louis growls through clenched teeth, air hissing from his mouth, brushing against his now-exposed fangs. The copious sweat staining the boy’s face reeks of fear. “Your name is Lestat. What’s your name?”
“Lestat,” he blurts out in a trembling voice, catching his breath as Louis moves away from his seat, standing up to lean against the back of the chair behind him. “My name is Lestat.”
“Good job, see?” he praises him, then bends down to sniff the tangles in his hair. “It’s easy, isn’t it? It’s easy, Les.”

Louis can't answer. He can't look away from Lestat's single terrified, red eye currently staring into his soul. He can't open his mouth for fear he'll start screaming.
Dr. Bhansali has to be the one to deliver the news.
"It would seem that Lestat has lost his memory…and may very well be stuck with the mind of a child now."
