Summary
(Based on the video of Hudson punching that machine. Featuring Ilya and the Centaurs).
Despite Shane’s new found openness to hanging out with the team it still came as a completely surprise when he actually agreed to go along with Wyatt’s suggestion for their post-wiping-the-ever-loving-floor-with-the-Metros activity for that day.
So that was why the entire Ottawa Centaurs starting line-up including Shane Hollander and Harris, found themselves at an arcade at seven o’clock that night, dressed like each member was at a different point in their life, individually headed to entirely separate events.

Summary
Shane knew he should have dropped everything when Ilya texted him. If he had been less focused on hockey and more focused on the love of his life, they wouldn’t be in this situation right now. Unfortunately, Shane took Ilya’s text of ‘I am not doing okay, I think I need more help’ as a conversation that they would have later, not an imminent problem. It wasn’t until he got a call from a certain Troy Barrett that he realized how badly he had messed up.
***
Set in the post season after Ilya's first season with Ottawa (pretending Troy and Ilya moved teams the same year, everything else stays the same). The cottage happened, they're out to Shane's parents but not their teams or anyone else, etc etc etc.

Summary
Troy Barrett probably didn’t think about Shane that often at all. He was a person whose life was rife with fears and complex thoughts and informing experiences, just like Shane.
He was also a person who was standing next to Shane’s secret-boyfriend-of-four-years (or eleven, depending on how you wanted to define it) on live television in a way that Shane never had and likely never would be able to. Being praised for coming out in a way that Shane never had and likely never would be able to.
Shane reckons with the windfall of uncomfortable emotions that accompany watching Troy Barrett's coming out journey and discovers (with help) that maybe it will never be easy and that doesn't mean it's not worth it.

Summary
“S’not the cleanser,” Shane says.
Ilya frowns, confused. “No? What else could it be? Nothing else has touched your face tonight except–”
Shane opens his eyes again just in time for the penny to drop, for his own horror to be reflected back at him on Ilya’s handsome face.
“No, it can’t be.”
“It is.”
“No.”
“It has to be, Ilya,” Shane says miserably, wishing there was some hole in his own logic but knowing there isn’t. “It started burning as soon as you, um, finished. And then when I ran in here to wipe it off, the welts were in the same pattern as where you’d, y’know…” Shane trails off, cheeks now heating from embarrassment on top of everything else.
“As where my cumshot had landed on your face,” Ilya finishes dryly, though his smile quickly fades. “Fuck, Shane.”
“I know.”
“I really got you good," he murmurs, his thumb tracing along the worst welt that bisects Shane’s cheek, his touch featherlight. “It would almost be beautiful if you weren’t in pain, no?”
