“You're going to love it.”
“I declined the show. I am going to hate it.”
“You declined THE SHOW.”
“I declined the corny ass dancing.”
“No, you didn't. You said you wanted to dance. On camera, in an interview. I saw that”
Alysa gave up. “Yes, I did.”
Amber grinned.Amber is on Dancing with the Stars, Alysa is not. She very much liked it that way. Until she finds herself in LA more often than she would like to admit to herself. Until it all slips out of her fingers and into Ambers arms.

Amber is tired.
Not the kind of tired that can be fixed with a night off, or a decent meal, or finally getting more than five hours of sleep. The kind that follows her from city to city, hides beneath stage makeup and smiles, and makes even the things she loves feel like something she has to survive.
She’s gotten pretty good at pretending she’s fine.
Unfortunately, Alysa knows her too well.
Or, Amber is very good at taking care of everyone except herself, and Alysa is very good at noticing.

Alysa hates Isabeau.
Ok, that’s not entirely true. Truthfully she loves Isabeau. The younger girl was a perfect mix of little sister and best friend and Alysa felt fiercely protective over her in a way that surprised even herself. Even though Isabeau was younger and seemed to be in a constant good mood, she could be serious when needed and seemed to possess some magic superpower to always know what was going on in Alysa’s head.
However, that didn’t mean that sometimes Alysa didn’t hate it.
In fact, after today Alysa made a mental note to train her poker face. At the end of the day though, it wasn’t Alysa’s fault for being so readable. It wasn’t even Isabeau’s fault for noticing. No, when all was said and done it was all really Amber’s fault.
