Summary
The close quarters of the car has every sense heightened, and Shane can feel everything of that day rising up like a slowly swarming tide so it rests behind his eyeballs, and no matter how much he blinks, the rage and jealousy is still there, curling in his blood and setting him on fire. And the longer Shane sits in it with the music playing and Ilya’s hand in his lap, the more Shane’s teeth have the urge to bite. Images of that woman from the cookie sale plague his mind, and his mind wonders what would have happened if Shane wasn’t there, not that Ilya would do anything but what would the omega have tried? What had she tried earlier like Mariya mentioned? Shane imagines a gaggle of them, drooling over his mate, his alpha as if Shane hadn’t claimed him already first with his ring and then with his teeth. Who did they think they were? Did they really think they could just flirt with Shane’s alpha so openly and not face the consequences? That Shane wouldn’t rip their faces off?

Summary
All told he got into a couple scraps a year, but nothing to write home about – he didn’t instigate, he didn’t go too far. He kept his head level and focused on what it needed to be focused on: winning the game. Sure, one time he almost punched Scott Hunter’s lights out after a game, but whatever – he was emotionally compromised then, sue him. Mostly everyone assumed that was a weird blip and let it go, and he and Scott maintained enough professional friendliness at league events that everyone figured it wasn’t personal, which it wasn’t.
All of that to say that the more and more the media went on about Hockey’s Golden Boy, the more people forgot that Shane was, at the end of the day, just like any other professional hockey player. He knew how to throw a fucking punch. He just chose not to, most times, for strategic reasons.
It became apparent that people had forgotten this very key fact almost immediately after he joined the Centaurs.

Summary
Shane gets approximately ten minutes of feeling blissful and content after Ilya Rozanov leaves his apartment-
-and then he has to bolt to the bathroom to get ill with a violence he hasn’t experienced since he was still conditioning for the season as a rookie.
In the aftermath, he runs a cold washcloth over his face while swishing his mouth out and tries to convince himself that it had to have just been something he ate.
He wonders if he should text Rozanov and give him a warning, but having to send a, “Thanks for taking my virginity, by the way I just puked my guts up and you might have caught whatever this is from me” doesn’t really seem like it’s a very sexy follow-up text to get from someone. As a “congrats on getting fucked” present to himself in honor of the occasion, he decides he’ll chalk it up to the sudden release of nerves and only send the text if it lasts past the night.
(shane is EXTREMELY sensitive to nicotine) (the problem with this? he isn't actually aware of it and thus doesn't understand why fucking ilya rozanov sometimes makes him sick afterwards)

Summary
Shane Hollander is only the second omega to play for the NHL. He's grateful, really, to Montreal for giving him this opportunity. It shouldn't matter that he's only there because of a development in sports-science that borders on pseudoscience. Or that he's only allowed to play as goalie, where extra padding and his alpha teammates can protect his delicate omega sensibilities.
But it does.
Especially when his contract has a no-mating clause the team goes uncomfortably far to ensure compliance with or when his rival's touch triggers a very inconvenient mating bond before he can even play in his first game.
