    If asked, Cody wouldn’t be able to say when he picked the habit up. It started small, little stick figures scratched into the walls of his bunk, smiling faces carved into his nutrient mush in the mess hall.

    It made his batchmates smile, and the Kaminoans didn’t seem to care or notice, so he kept going—doodling spirals and faces and birds and stars on the edges of his datawork, telling stories on the ground with a stick of charcoal, inking designs onto his brothers’ skin with the stylus they had found lying on the ground.

    Even the advent of war didn’t seem to curb Cody’s urge to draw, to bring his surroundings to life under his stylus. He kept it hidden—it wasn’t very Marshal Commander-like to spend what little free time he had holed up in his quarters with his stylus and the notepad made of real flimsi that Rex had bought him.

    His General snuck his way onto the pages of Cody’s notepad without him realizing it.

    This will either bring them closer together or end very badly indeed.

Keeping very consistent with his track record so far, Steve loses the ensuing fight, which is bad news for his already damaged brain.
