Summary
Jaskier’s sloped shoulders stiffened, his head raising as his hands stilled. There was a tiny moment where Geralt wasn’t sure if he was going to say anything at all. “Geralt,” he said eventually, voice stronger than Geralt’s had been.
Geralt opened his mouth, but no sound came out. He cleared his throat, shifted his stance. “I need you,” he said, letting his genuine desperation seep into his voice.
Jaskier’s head bowed. His hands clutched the edge of the table. “You need me,” he repeated, each word deliberate.(VERY short one-shot inspired by the titular prompt)

Jaskier walks out from Posada expecting a month or two of high adventure. But a great deal of the life of an itinerant witcher is very similar to the life of a travelling bard: dusty, slow going, and unlikely to arrive anywhere good on any kind of a schedule. Maybe unlikely to ever arrive anywhere good, at all. Moreover, Geralt is never actually going to tell Jaskier when something exciting does turn up. Jaskier's coming to grips with it.
He's coming to grips, also, with the fact that while Geralt might be worth the wait--and the sprained ankles, and the boredom, and maybe even the curses and the very dark nights and the bloodstains on Jaskier's best doublet--Geralt is probably never going to wait for him. This is the part that's a difficult fit for a ballad.

'He was going to tell the story.
He’d decided that much. Or at least, a version of the story. He had to. She’d said he owed her nothing, and she may think that, but it was just not true. She’d opened her home to him and in these last months of sleeping where he fell and eating what he could find, that was a kindness that could not go ignored.
Maybe it was a tale as old as the stars, a heart broken and struggling to piece itself together again. But the classics were classics for a reason.
And his tragedy, because it was a tragedy he’d come to realise, thinking back to the youth in Posada with a song in his heart, dust in his hair and bread in his trousers, and where he is now, his tragedy may be unheard of to a seal. Maybe she’d never needed to rinse her ears of human matters.
He owed it to himself too. What sort of cautionary tale was he, if no one ever heard it?'
After the mountain, Jaskier follows the slope, then the stream, then the river, then the shoreline.

Summary
Slash, post-fight, ex-friends to lovers fix-it fic (anotha one)! I originally wrote this as a sequel to a diff fic but decided to rewrite it as a new story set some time after the end of season 1.
Geralt and Jaskier parted ways after the mountain and are not on speaking terms, but when Geralt overhears some gossip about the dead bodies of bards showing up throughout the countryside and Jaskier goes missing, the tricky hand of fate forces them together yet again. What starts as an abduction snowballs when Jaskier finds out he is at the center of a sinister plot and Geralt may be the only one who can save him.
It doesn’t help that during their months apart, he came to the grim realization that he is absolutely, incandescently, chest-achingly head over heels in love with the oblivious Witcher. And no, he’s not happy to see him again, even if it is as his rescuer.

I like your new song, even though it sounds incredibly inaccurate in most respects. Please tell me more about it, because I am interested in you, and not because I need the information to earn coin.”
Yeah, that’ll go over fabulously.
Leaving behind the ruins of his life on the same mountaintop he brought them down upon, Geralt follows a trail of rumor and song to hunt a sea monster. Along the way, he finds Jaskier - and when he does, working together to hunt down the beast seems like as good a plan as any to communicate wordless apology. Unfortunately for both the contract and their relationship, the world sees fit to throw a bigoted alderman, a mourning prostitute, and a noblewoman's cheating husband into the works, thoroughly gumming up Geralt's attempts to get absolutely anything done.

Slash, post-fight fix-it fic! Chapters 1-17 are what I consider to be the start-conclusion of the truth spell fic, it's not necessary to read past that! The next arcs see them exploring a haunted fortress with a dark secret, getting involved with a gang and going to medieval jail, and a small time skip where they are vacationing at the coast and get hit with a body-swapping curse.
This fic is officially complete!

Summary
Getting stuck in Kaedwen in winter had never been on Jaskier's plan. It's cold, they don't appreciate his music and nobody likes their national beverage anyway. The only redeeming thing Kaedwen has is Kaer Morhen, so Jaskier does what any reasonable bard would do in this situation: he decides to charm his way into Kaer Morhen to hibernate with Geralt and the other witchers. If nothing it will be an experience no human has ever had, fuel for songs and poems for years to come, while finally teaching him a thing or two about witchers he's just dying to know.
Curiosity tended to kill the cat, but Jasker had always seen himself as more of a bird anyway.
