Summary
English is Kara’s sixth language. She learned three as a child, the most common languages of three star systems that were frequent travel destinations from her home planet, in addition to her native Kryptonian and the old Kandorian tongue. In high school and college she added Spanish and ASL respectively, and since then she’s picked up enough in several other Earth languages to say important things like “hello”, “please”, and “I’d like a dozen of those dumplings”.
But sometimes, when she gets really exhausted or emotional, or the rare times when she actually gets drunk off some imported alien alcohol, Kara finds herself fumbling for an idiom or preposition.
A language difference leads to a realization, and then a declaration.

Summary
For Supercorptober 2022, Day 9: "fresh". They're almost but not quite dating (..yet) when Lena becomes determined to help Kara taste a food she's missed from her homeworld.
Takes place after the series finale, but Argo doesn't exist because that plot point never made sense to me.

Summary
Kara is inspired to treat Lena to an extraordinary Galentine’s Day–because that’s what best friends are for, right? Nearly everyone in National City, however, assumes she’s taking Lena out on a romantic Valentine’s date. Including Lena.
Misunderstandings, flirting, *that* dress, and only a tiny bit of angst, with a happy ending.

Summary
Few Americans knew much about the small, poor, heavily-forested country of Trigeda, not until well into its bloody civil war. When the fighting and the floods of refugees spilled over the borders to its wealthier neighbors, it finally provoked a UN peacekeeping mission in response. Still, many of the kids at Clarke’s high school probably wouldn’t have been able to find Trigeda on a map—even after some of the refugees began arriving in Arkadia.
Clarke herself only paid attention to the newcomers when the teenaged ones started showing up in her classes, and when her science teacher assigned her to work with one of them on a project. Specifically with Lexa kom’Trikru, the girl who seemed to be the unofficial leader of the Grounder students, who stalked around school like she ran the place.
Clarke wasn’t a big fan of Lexa’s. And the feeling seemed to be mutual...

Fall means harvest festivals and bonfires, and one of Clarke's favorite things about crashing to earth: the *food*. Oh, and Lexa being flirty.

Summary
Christine Chapel is in the process of washing out. Grad school turned out to be too much for her--for a lot of reasons--but admitting she's dropping out is also too much. So these days she's working at the downtown comic book shop, and trying not to think too hard about how she's not keeping her shit together.
Then a hot dad and his kid walk in, and she starts to daydream about a different sort of life. One that's not so hard.
Unfortunately, that's not reality. Reality bites.

Summary
She doesn’t sleep.
Not because she’s unsettled, but because she’s too settled. Too still. There’s a warm heaviness in her chest, and it’s not panic. That’s what scares her.
She thinks: God, I could do this every day.
She thinks: I want to do this every day.
She thinks: What if I need her?
But the voice that used to scream run is quiet now. It hasn’t disappeared. It’s just… hushed. Muted under the weight of Kara’s breathing and the way her fingers found Lena’s hip in sleep and haven’t moved since.
OR
Lena Luthor is a bolter. She has rules and lives her life by paradigms she holds onto, dearly. Lovers come (enthusiastically) and go (broken-hearted) and Lena rinses and repeats. And then, inevitably, the universe puts Kara Danvers in front of her and suddenly it's crystal clear - this is her person. This is it. And now, there is nothing - and no one - Lena wants to commit to more.
