And Mk smiles. They're different sounding, coming from the demon's mouth, and Mk knows he doesn't mean it the same way. He's unsure as each word hangs a bit, and he can't blame him for it. Mk is just different in his ways of showing affection. Maybe he should make the lines between his platonic and romantic affections a little more clear.
So he just turns to his friend, his face now lit by the gentle rays of sun peeking over the horizon, and he says something he doesn't believe. "I know," they sound more convincing coming out than they did in his head, "you're not very good at hiding how much you like me."

Mk is bad at telling the difference between platonic and romantic affections. So it seems that Red Son is, too.
