This is an odd time to be led away, the unit thinks. Alarms are blaring throughout the base, red lights flashing, and all serviceable units have been put on high alert. Most likely, there has been an attack on the base.
And yet, the commander has opened a defective unit's chamber and commanded him to follow. Perhaps somehow the commander doesn't notice the alarms. But it seems unlikely. And instead of his regular uniform, the commander is wearing a uniform that the unit has never seen before. Everything about this is odd, the unit thinks.

Nyx turned on his heels, only to be met with a punch to the face. He staggered, bracing a hand against Luche’s chair to recover but his assailant didn’t grant him the time. Something silvery flashed across his vision and then he was jerked back. A strangled noise burst from his lips, his hands rising to his neck to claw at the thin wire there.

The longer they pushed the car, the wobblier he felt. His limbs started to feel like rubber. It felt like he was moving through soup. Should he ask to stop for a break? When he looked up Noctis and Gladio both had their heads ducked down determinedly, faces stoic. If they were giving their all he could hold it for a bit. At least another twenty minutes. Let them get a little further down the road before admitting he wasn’t feeling very great.
