Summary
Oscar exhales loudly through his nose, working to set his face in a strict, flat expression. “What? No, you can’t look through my things.”
“Aw, why not?” A whine tears out of Lando’s mouth. His lips even form a little pout. “Please, Osc? You were such a cute kid! I want to see what cute little Oscar collected.”
“It’s not just from when I was a kid,” Oscar tries. “I mean, there’s stuff from school and karting and stuff.”
Lando scoffs a bit. “Ok, well, your mum sent it, so I know there’s not like your weird hentai in there or something. Well… maybe if she’s cool with the bottom eyes. But still, I wanna know what teen Oscar liked too.”
“Ok, I don’t watch hentai just because I learned Japanese, you freak,” Oscar says. “And even if I did, do you really think I would keep that as a keepsake?”
“Well, I can find out if you let me see what’s inside.”
-----
A box of Oscar's childhood keepsakes accidentally gets delivered to Lando's apartment. Somehow, this leads to Lando discovering the full extent of Oscar's fanboy era, watching Heated Rivalry together, getting over lost championships, and learning how to go from pining rivals/teammates to something more. -

Oscar doesn't know what to feel about the guy. He's a mystery, an enigma, an idiosyncrasy to be studied. He knows next to nothing about the neighbour of his, apart from the fact that he, like Oscar, lives on the fourth floor.
Here's what Oscar does know about the guy:
He spends his mornings fighting to tame his curls, filling Oscar with the irrational, overwhelming urge to tear those rough hands away and run his own fingers through the hair to see if it's as soft as it looks.
He works out on the balcony, shirtless, like an asshole.
He chugs vodka straight from a bottle, likely with a one-way wish ticket to liver disease.
He's the most inconsiderate neighbour in the whole building, blasting twangy country music from his speakers at three in the morning. Or maybe he's been living in a cave for most of his life and has never seen or heard of headphones. Who is Oscar to judge? Maybe he should get him a pair as a belated housewarming gift.
Lastly, his walls are fluorescent yellow. Which. Is a choice. Oscar is forever going to associate that colour with the man now. -

Lando News 🧡 @norrisjournal
Some new faces were around the garage today! This weekend the team received Oscar Piastri, he was part of an engineering program by Mclaren. He’s been working with them for a while now, and already met Lando in the MTC in 2023! Hopefully we can hear more from them soon. 👀

“Hello, I am an android built by Cyberlife. I am model OP-810 but you can call me Oscar.”
An android? Lando’s new personal trainer was an android?
When Jon had told him he was leaving for a new cushy job with less travelling, Lando was devastated. They’d been working together eight years, since before he’d even made it to formula one.
Lando had hardly expected his replacement to live up to the incredibly high bar Jon had set, but he'd at least assumed that whoever they were would be, well, a human.
Instead, standing in front of him was an apathetic, emotionless machine.

Summary
He had been in fact wondering when someone would move in, curious to see with who he would share a wall now.
The door gets open and Oscar is pretty sure his heart actually stops beating for a second when he sees the boy standing there.
“Can I help you, mate?”
Blinking to regain focus Oscar tries to remember why he came here. “Um… I’m Oscar”or
The one where Oscar is completely normal about Lando, his new neighbor.
