Summary
Everything was fine in Peter’s life.
No, really, after Jean’s disappearance, and MJ confirming that she doesn’t love him nor remember him, and having to remake memories with his two best friends who don’t know anything about him, everything was fine.
He promised himself that he wouldn’t do this alone anymore. He wouldn’t isolate in his moldy apartment, inhaling asbestos and other mysterious dust particles. He wouldn’t order take out every night and leave the empty boxes on the floor, forget about them for a few days, then have to clean it all up in the dead of night to avoid an eviction notice from the stench.
Most of all, though, he wouldn’t spend time wallowing in his own self-doubt and depression, letting the isolation sink deep into his mind and corrupt everything about him.
He wouldn’t do any of these things, if he were a perfect person. Unfortunately for Peter Parker, he’s the furthest thing from perfect, and he isn't even much of a person anymore, either.
