Katara is captured after being caught with the waterbending scroll and taken aboard Zuko’s ship headed to the Northern Water Tribe. Zuko is desperate to intercept the Avatar before he can reach the protection of their icy fortress. Katara is desperate to reach her sister tribe before she goes into heat. And Iroh is desperate to wrangle these two relentlessly hostile and increasingly horny teenagers away from mutually assured destruction.

Summary
It was easy for Zuko to pretend he didn’t want Katara when they were enemies.
It got a bit harder once they were allies.
It became borderline painful once they were friends.But now that she’s taken up a prolonged residency in his palace? It feels physically impossible.
Especially since she’s started looking at him in a way that absolutely cannot mean what he desperately wants it to mean, and behaving in ways that feel dangerously close to flirting.
Of course, Zuko knows he is almost certainly imagining all of it. The alternative would be completely insane.
Or: Katara tries to seduce the world’s most emotionally repressed man.

Zuko cocks his good eyebrow. “...keys?”

“Obviously, but why come all the way downtown to ask me?”
She twirls the keys around her finger. “We both know that Jet’s apartment is, like, half the reason we wanted to hang out around him. I live across the hall and I still fell for it.”
Zuko exhales. “It’s so beautiful.”
“And we both know that it’s a den of iniquity and lies, and also happens to be his pride and joy. And I can’t really lie...I kinda want to trash the place.” -
