Summary
“Hey, Em.”
“Mm?”
“Did you make a wish?”
“What do you mean?”
“During the meteor shower. There’s a whole thing about making a wish on shooting stars.”
“What? No. I didn’t.” She leans back to look at Andy. “Did you?”

Summary
“Look, I know we ended this three years ago, but this is a different level entirely.”
“Correction – you ended this. If my guess is correct, and you are referring to how I am behaving, this is not new. Unfamiliar, maybe, but not new.” Every word is said as if her feelings were pressed cleanly out of each one before they were cleared to enter the room. “You were right, of course; I have several years of experience in more difficult situations, especially in comparison to the fashion industry. It was about time I used it.”
“That was low, Andy. Especially for you.”
“In what way? They are all factual statements. What one does with facts afterwards is their responsibility.”
“...Jesus.”
“What did you really want to talk about? Leading in with vague accusatory statements doesn’t help either one of us, and we both have things to do.”
--
Or, Andy takes Emily's suggestion to put her several years of experience abroad to good use and Emily hates it.

Summary
“She’s mistaken, surely.”
Andrea's stomach tightened. “What?”
Emily looked almost annoyed by the question.
“Miranda.” Andrea waited. Emily swallowed. “You’re not going to tell me to stop the wedding, right?”
Andrea stared at her. The room seemed to reduce itself suddenly to Emily, the dress and the engagement ring visible against her left hand. Andrea laughed because she could not think of anything else to do.
“Obviously not. Why would I do that?”

Okay, maybe it is weird that Emily Charlton invites her ex-girlfriend to her wedding, but it would be just as weird not inviting her, you know? Plus, what's the worst that could happen?
