Summary
Usually that look of distrust, of distaste, is rooted in the Galra blood. In the near-expectation people have that one day he’s going to lose himself to it.
But he’s never had them look at him like this because of his father, before. Because he dares to call himself human, because he dared to survive.
It’s worse. Somehow, this is so much worse.

Summary
It’s a quiet thing settling in him, nestled between his ribs, and it's not as sharp as it had been. Not as suffocating. They’re mending, this family, coming back together one day at a time.
Today he’ll straighten up the barn. Tomorrow he’ll find something else to clean, to put right. He'll do it as often as he needs to, however many times it takes.

Summary
For a moment, he just stands there on the stairs, his determination flagging. Jordan’s sitting on a bale of hay, facing the ship, working a handful of scrap metal through his fingers like it’s nothing more than putty. Jon wonders for a beat if it would yield as easily under his own grip, wonders how their strength may or may not differ, now.
It gives him an idea. One that could either work perfectly in their mutual favor, or that could ruin any progress they’d made, maybe forever. At this point, it’s a risk he’s willing to take.
He descends the rest of the stairs, sees Jordan’s gaze lift. “Spar with me.”

Summary
Luthor has proven he’s not afraid to take what he wants. The precedent had been well and thoroughly set. For all she knew, he had them both chained up in a ditch somewhere, waiting to die.
And Jordan had powers. At the time, Jon did not. He understands the choice—he does—even though something vital inside of him had shattered, hearing that recording.

Summary
Jordan half-expects Jon to leave it there, to get up and walk out. He was so angry, he’s been so angry, and rightfully so. Jordan deserves anger, he deserves to be alone in this and feel every ounce of this hurt—
—but Jon stays put. Because it’s Jon, and that’s what he does.

(OR Jordan spirals, Jon is every bit his father's son, and grief is a finicky beast)

Summary
Lance can’t help it.
He can’t help the heat rushing to his ears or the skip in his heart or the lump in his throat that he tries—and fails—to swallow down, his mouth suddenly as dry as the desert around them.
“Y’know, I gotta say,” he feigns weakly, “I kinda miss the skin-tight glowing catsuit.”
