As Jason sat awake, holding Percy in his arms, it hit him. So hard he almost shot up in bed, but his body's natural instinct was to keep Percy comfortable. Jason knew now, this was his dream. This was all he ever wanted, and he only ever wanted it with Percy.
‘I think I fell in love with my best friend,’ he thought to himself.
And then, because the realization was too large to hold it in, he actually said it out loud in a whisper, “Oh, gods, I fell in love with my best friend.”
