Garrett nodded immediately. “Okay.”
“I can’t—” Dean sucked in a breath that sounded too close to a sob for anyone to survive acknowledging it. “I can’t fucking be here.”
“Okay,” Garrett said again, softer now. “I’ve got you.”
Dean laughed, but it broke in the middle.
“Do you?”
Garrett’s face went still.
For one terrible second, the question hung there between them, bigger than Hunter, bigger than Logan, bigger than Allie and her stupid assignment and the blood drying on Dean’s hand.
Then Garrett put one hand on the back of Dean’s neck and squeezed.
“Yeah,” he said roughly. “I do.”My take on what happened after the S1 finale and what I think Jules wasn't telling us about Hunter and Summer but also my personal campaign to make Garrett Graham parent Dean against his will plus a bonus whump Dean chapter that exists solely because I lack self-control and an overnight third chapter because apparently your comments convinced me this fic wasn't chaotic enough without Summer, and me finally giving up and turning this into a one-shot collection.

Garrett’s forthcoming reply was drowned out by applause as the next person climbed on stage. As Garrett tried to repeat himself, a deep voice cleared their throat into the microphone.
Garrett froze in place, hand instantly tightening on Hannah’s out of instinct.
“Holy shit.”
“Holy shit.”
“Holy shit.” First was Hannah, then Allie, and finally, as he looked to the stage, was Garrett.
John Fucking Logan was on stage.
