    Jimmy sits near the edge of the water, splashing his feet in it. Not daring to try to soak his feathers wet, but close enough that he can feel the cold, chilling sensation rile him up.

    He paused when he heard a melody nearby, one that drew him nearer towards the source, trying to bait him into venturing past the coast of the ocean into the icy depths below. Before he could stop himself, his body was already moving subconsciously, forcing itself to find the source of the sound.

    The only thing he remembered from that night was a young, beautiful, dazzling mer. Its scales shone with a glistening glow as they splashed around. After getting spotted, they swam away. Their tails splashed against the water's surface as they delved deeper till they were no longer visible.

    But what would happen if Jimmy were to find that same mer that he saw a few nights ago?
