    Summary

They stand off like that for a couple seconds before Frank turns to the entrance. "Get out of here," he says, forcing it out like it pains him to say. With his reputation of killing criminals like her by any means necessary, it probably does. But, and she can't imagine him saying it out loud, he cares more about Peter than whatever mission he originally set out to complete.

    They have that in common.

It's why, even after his footsteps have long faded away, she ignores the unconscious man she wanted to kill and focuses on monitoring Peter's vitals on the way to the hospital. She even ignores him when he wakes up an hour later and stumbles out of the room to get as far away as possible.

More hours pass before she even thinks about leaving.

In which, after running for so long, Jean Grey takes a breath for both Peter and herself.

    Summary

He tugs his mask off, and Ned does a double take.

It’s not the injuries that catch Ned off guard—though there are plenty of them. No, Peter’s eyes are black. Like, fully black, no whites or nothing. Demon possession style, a la Supernatural. Fuck, does he have a crucifix? He hasn’t been to Mass in years.

“Ned?” Peter asks cautiously. “Are you okay?”

    --
It's been a week since Ned remembered his best friend. A week of learning this new version of Peter. So much has changed.

Ned refuses to let that stop him from loving him all the same.

    Summary

"it's normal to be nervous," he murmurs, twisting to the side to dip, coat, then tap the excess paint off the brush. "it's a big thing, to dance the ballet your mother was known for. but you practiced so much, and put in so much of your time."

and with a small flick of his wrist, he finishes the last one. "i think you'll do well."

the reassurance is devoid of any frill, almost jarringly so, but odette finds it comforting.

it's simple and warm. it makes her feel like less of an alien in her own skin. it's oh so him.

    Jackson Asshe @jackass12
Snezhnaya diverts almost ten million Mora every year for girls in fancy dress to prance around and sing when that money could go to actual research, and yet people still wonder why this country is going to shit

    ↳ Dr. Dmitry Kurchatov @energyiseverything
That's a very close-minded view! Ballet and opera are the backbone of Snezhnaya's culture and it's our duty to preserve it just as much as it is to find the next great invention. I would not have finished my thesis in the first place if it wasn't for my local theatre. And nothing stimulates the economy more than... Read More
