“Wally - Fuck, Wally!” Simon cries, object abandoned and instead turning as far as he can, desperately grappling for purchase on the slippery wood as the water creeps up his thighs. “Wally, help please!”
Goosebumps dance across his skin as his legs are fully submerged into the cold, tears are pin pricking at the corners of his eyes and he can feel his fingertips ripping with how desperately he is digging into the wood.
Now it’s up to his waist, then as quickly as he tries to scream out again his chest in pulled under and he can’t breathe -

Simon wasn’t one to depend on others, hell, he barely allowed himself to lean on Maddie more than he did.
But the exhaustion and the soreness cursing his bones and the stabbing in his hairline was certainly pushing him into making an exception, especially if it got him to Maddie quicker.
He bites his lip before silently leaning closer, lowering his head for inspection.

Dean is a blunt instrument. He's the hammer he once accused Cas of being, the gun leveled at the poltergeist in the dark, the jawbone-blade cleaving tissue from bone. He's the sword swung on marionette strings by the archangel. He's the best pupil Alastair's ever had.
Cas is moving closer, speaking softly: gentle, lovely words that cut through the rhythmic clanging of Billie's fist against the warding. And all Dean can think is that he's so, so wrong.

Summary
Bubbles and suds coated the white fabric, “Dean?” Castiel sighed through a split lip.
Dean braced himself. “This is going to hurt.”
The angel nodded, “Okay.”
Dean pressed the soapy hand towel to Cas’ temple, watching the blood soak into the white fabric painstakingly slow. Castiel recoiled as if he’d been shot by a fatal blow. Leaning back in the chair, nearly tipping the damn thing over.
“Hey— hey! You gotta stay still man. I know it hurts.” He barked sympathetically, bracing the angel’s head with his offhand. Castiel shuttered, fingers gripping the armrests so tight his knuckles began to turn white. His body coiled tightly, legs trembling, eyes fluttering shut.
Dean was about to say something but closed his mouth hopelessly. Pulling the rag back, seeing the blood slowly draining away to reveal a two-inch in-diameter gash. “Dammit, Cas.” He uttered, squeezing the blood into the bucket.
Squeeze, rinse, reuse.
Squeeze. Rinse. Reuse.Castiel is hurt after raiding a nest alone, and Dean has to put on his poker face to patch the pitiful, reckless son of a bitch up before something real bad happens.
