Summary
"Why is it that sometimes people are scarier than Guardians?"
He didn't look at her as she read off his words. He knew that it had been like this before, that Zelda had never known him to say much, if anything, out loud—though he vaguely remembered he must have spoken to her at least sometimes—but something about it felt embarrassing.
She hummed, drumming her thumbs on the edges of the slate.
"Well, I suppose with people there's a chance of failure."
Or: Link and Zelda talk about feelings. And the Sheikah Slate. And games.

Summary
“You don’t remember me,” she states—a declarative.
Link frowns, penitent. “Only the crown, Your Highness.”
The words sting as much as the first time, but she clenches her fists. “Then we will find a way to recover your memories.”
His handsome lips pull taut, drawing her attention downward, and she hates that she feels such longing to kiss him— Could they recover his memories if she could just kiss him with enough ardor?
“Princess,” he says gently, “there is nothing to recover.”
What if after sending Link backwards in time, it is Zelda alone who retained memories of his heroism? Will Link succumb to nihilism, navigating a life without purpose or meaning? Or can Princess Zelda help piece back together what time has shattered?

Summary
The truth was, he never chose silence. The Master Sword had become a needle, his fate a thread; and Link could feel them working, ever so slowly, to sew his mouth shut.
...
On why it took the Hero of Hyrule a century to find his voice again.

Summary
The calamity has been defeated and the Champions are revived on a pure white full moon. Everything is back to how it was, except not really. One hundred years has taken its toll on Hyrule-
and where has the hero gone?
Revali is sent on a quest to find Link (but not without a lot of angry squawking about it). He travels the lengths of Hyrule with nothing to go on other than a full library of photos the hero had left in Zelda's sheikah plate. As he journeys though, the question of 'where is Link' slowly transforms to 'who is Link?' because this grinning boy in the pictures surely cannot be the same stoic brick wall they all once knew.
As extraordinarily talented as he is, he finds him all too fast and the questions only multiply from there.

Summary
It was the third time in as many days that Hoz had seen Link playing cards by himself that he stopped to ask if Link would like a playing partner.
Without missing a beat, Link dug a crumpled paper out of a fold of his archaic tunic and handed it to the younger-older knight.
"Poker?" it said.
"Hah," Hoz huffed out a laugh. "No. Not that it doesn't sound fun, but—used to have a bit of a gambling problem, about ten years back. Can't touch any of the stuff I played back then, even if we aren't going for money, you know? Have another game in mind?"
Link thought for a moment, then mimed casting a line.
"Go Fish it is."
Or: Hoz sees Link playing solitaire in the emergency shelter every day for half a week before he asks if he'd like someone to join him. The series of events that follow have only very little to do with cards.
