(Cas is back from the empty, and they're dancing around what happened in the basement. Then Dean asks to see Cas's scars , Cas takes his shirt off and everything goes off kilter. They don't talk about it but they do anyway.)

Let it be said that Dean Winchester did not graduate top of his journalism class and go on to land a coveted reporting job at The Daily Planet by rolling over and giving up easy. Clearly, his approach so far ain't been working, but at least now he ain't in any doubt of Cas' feelings towards him, so all he really needs is a battle plan.
Or,
Cas may be a mild mannered reporter with a secret to hide or whatever, but right now Dean has bigger problems. He's got a superhero admirer, a colleague he's crushing on who can't take a hint, and somehow everything's just gone right off the rails.
Luckily, Dean's has a plan to fix everything. And there's only a small chance of death.
