Summary
Mack does not see it; he just hears it. Which is likely for the best because the sound was awful– he can’t imagine the look.
When he does finally look, Will is crumpled on the ice. His back is to the boards, and his face is facing out, completely lifeless. The whole arena disappears around him as he skates to Will. He’s the first one there.
“Will!” He calls out. Then again when he gets no response. “Cmon Will, wake up,” he pleads.
He only looks away from his man to make sure the medical staff are on the way, and thankfully they are sliding down the ice.

In 2034, Will suffers a major injury that changes their lives forever.

Summary
The moments leading up to the crash happen in slow motion. Will’s a few cars ahead of him, blinker on, patiently waiting for the light to turn green. The light changes, Will’s car edges into the intersection, and Mack’s heart drops into his stomach. It’s half a second, half a second and it feels like his world has imploded.
“Will!” Mack yanks at the door, whining as the metal creaks and groans but refuses to budge. “Fuck, Will!” Mack sucks in a sharp breath as his fist connects with glass. The driver's side window shatters but Mack barely feels the sting.
Or: Will has amnesia and Mack struggles to cope.
