Summary
But now he was faced with the aftermath. The cost of getting her back had been high, for her most of all...It seemed like the worst injury, at least physically, that she was leaving with had happened well after Caleb was dead.
At least three of her ribs had broken or popped out of place when she was given CPR. He broke them when he performed CPR. And now she was wincing and turning away from him in pain.
It was all his fault.
Tim struggles though his guilt at seeing Lucy in pain, after her rescue from Caleb. Bit by bit, day by day, as she heals physically, he heals emotionally.

This was going to be their start to life together. It wasn’t time for marriage and babies and all of that, yet. But that was the end goal. That was what drove them to many, many conversations about careers and departments and money. And hopes and wants and dreams. It was the beginning of their Happily Ever After.
Everything is wonderful, until it isn't. Lucy's UC past catches up with her, just as she and Tim are moving forward in their life together.

Of all the things she’d expected to happen at dinner with Bailey and Nolan, revealing hers and Nolan’s relationship was not even on the list. It wasn’t even that she was actively hiding it from Tim, she just never saw the point in telling him. It had been years ago by now and they hadn’t even known each other when Nolan and her started the relationship. Hell, by the time they broke up, Tim was barely even tolerating her. It wasn’t his business then and making it a point to reveal it to him now just seemed way more dramatic than it deserved.

The look on his face when she finally meets his eye hurts. It tugs at something sharp inside her, the scar tissue on her heart so fresh from his betrayal, and as she feels the sharp sting of tears behind her eyes, her anger at him grows. She refuses to be vulnerable around him again, refuses to allow him that opening to destroy her again. She has rebuilt herself from the wreckage he left of their life, she is impenetrable now, impervious to that soft look in his eye when he takes a step closer to her. It’s an act, she reminds herself, taking a step back to maintain the space between them. He’s exploiting a weakness, just looking for a way in.

Summary
Detective OT3 - Ward and Lincoln are detectives. They are incredibly effective at their job, even more so when they are partnered together. Skye is a nurse in the local ER. And these two detectives keep showing up, injured in their pursuit of justice. They all become friends and then things change. Skye can't decide between them and the boys finally recognize the depth of their own bond. They decide to go forward as a threesome. And it should be hard, it should be complicated, but....it's not. It's easy and perfect and amazing.
