He bit down onto his lips, his eyes averted from Yoo Joonghyuk’s gaze. “The nobles are growing increasingly restless as we speak…” He turned a page over, his lips thinning to a line. A sigh puffed from those mirthless lips of his as he massaged his brow. “The northern regions and the southern regions share the same sentiment about the instability of your rule. If we don’t consolidate your position with a child, a riot may ensue.”
“Kim Dokja,” Yoo Joonghyuk growled. “How many times will I have to repeat this? I do not wish for a queen. I do not need a queen. How much longer will you pester me with the meaningless wants of those filthy nobles?”
Yoo Joonghyuk’s foolish aide proposes he take a queen to rule by his side. Instead, he resolves to teach his aide a lesson.

“You fool.”
And that, a single sentence from Yoo Joonghyuk, is all the warning Kim Dokja gets before a small warmth blossoms between his lips.

Kim Dokja transmigrates into a novel as a side character, finds the main character maimed, and nurses him back to health, with no ulterior motives at all. Yoo Joonghyuk, like the incorrigible bastard he is, accosts him despite that fact.

Completely opposite of the novel itself—where the author had forgone reason to induce unnecessary tragedy on Yoo Joonghyuk, leaving him standing alone. Wasn’t this the picture-perfect ending, one that all protagonists would desire?

The response is immediate. A hand latches itself right onto Kim Dokja’s wrist, preventing him from moving.
“You,” Yoo Joonghyuk chokes, his expression strangely hurt, “can’t go. You can’t, Kim Dokja.”
Having isekai’d as the villain in a shitty story, Kim Dokja has no choice but to overturn his fate. In a strange series of events, he ends up accompanying the protagonist on his journey, but when he tries to part ways from the protagonist, Yoo Joonghyuk, he faces more than he’s willing to accept.
