  Summary

  Jada Vale has been raised for the Hunger Games the way District One raises all its tributes — with discipline, expectation, and the unspoken promise that winning is the only acceptable outcome. But beneath her cold precision lies a dangerous flaw: compassion she cannot fully kill. In the Capitol, every choice she makes threatens to expose the cracks in her armour: the alliances she shouldn’t care about, the mentor who sees too much, and the persona she must perfect to survive the spotlight.
