When Wanda received an invitation to attend the VMAs, she didn’t think twice about it. It had been a while since she’d last participated in one of these events, but after spending a good amount of time away from the public eye and the drama of the music industry, she felt ready to get back in the swing of it.
She would just have to spend the entire event right next to the White Queen, someone she'd never really been friendly with. But it'd been years since they last met, so nothing was going to come out of it, right?

Emma Frost was holding onto Anthony Stark’s arm, downing a drink with her free hand. If she had to fake laugh even one more time, she would snap and kill someone. God knows she’d been itching to get her hands dirty.
She still found it hard to make peace with this whole situation. Orchis had organized a high profile New Year’s Eve party in a penthouse in New York, so of course Stark had to attend. She had no way of avoiding accompanying him as his wife, in order to keep up appearances. That didn’t mean she wasn’t hating every single second of it.
Little did she know, things would soon get much more interesting.

When she didn't even have to worry about Team Horde, about the future, because Adora was by her side, as she would've always been. It's almost like nothing has changed. Is Catra really willing to risk it all?
But then her Malamar draws back her attention and she snaps back to reality. Ugh, must she always be this emotional? Everything has changed. Of course it has.
And this is what she's been waiting for. This is what she's worked so damn hard for. She's not going to back down now. She's not going to let anyone take this away from her. -
