Part of him wondered why he still let Rozanov, with his foul mouth and lack of decorum, into his apartment; into his body; into his life, though only the far-reaching corners of it, given how little they intersected with each other outside of hockey. Another part of him told him to shut up and stop thinking for once. This part had, regrettably, grown more and more successful in its attempts over the years to bury his common sense and self-respect.
