"You're a tactile learner, Prime," Megatron whispers. "And I know how futile the spinning of your processor is now. Let me walk you through it, hmm?" And it is true that Optimus struggles with these games, and maybe that is exactly what this is, a completely normal social intricacy he had missed sometime in the last million years of wartime.

How long will you be gone?” Starscream asked, sat in Megatron’s berth -rumpled, bitten, kissed, and well-fragged- the sheets pooled in his lap.
“As long as is deemed necessary,” Megatron barely glanced back, latching his fusion cannon into place and calibrating his offensive systems. Starscream had left scars across his back, deep scratches scuffed with blue.
“And what I am supposed to do while you’re gone?” Starscream grumbled, folding his arms huffily.
Megatron snorted, optics still on his cannon. “Wait.”

Summary
After attacking a Senator and crash landing on Cybertron in his escape, Megatron finds himself with a badly injured creator and precious little money to pay for their treatment. Studding himself out as a short-contract sire at a sparkling agency seems, if nothing else, less potentially deadly than signing himself over to the pits as a gladiator. He never expected to find solace there, of all places, when his world collapses in grief and debt and guilt.
Hot Rod has only ever known life as a member of the Agency, where fraternisation is all but forbidden outside of approved scenes and everything comes with a price. Megatron isn’t the first stud he’s taken a shine to, but he is the first to refuse to play by the Agency’s rules, to offer freely things Hot Rod has never been able to afford. Kindness, affection, respect. Perhaps even, if he can bring himself to accept it... love.
