    Annabeth was crying now. “Someone who loves you wouldn’t do this.” Sally cupped her face softly, wiping away the tears on her face. Annabeth leaned into Sally’s touch.

    “No,” Sally smiled sadly, “no, they shouldn’t.”

    They were sitting in silence for a moment. Sally holding her, Annabeth letting her tears fall, breathing her in, something about her being familiar and comforting but different from Percy. She took one more deep breath.

    “I want to take his name. Your name.”
