Jungkook cleared his throat. “Yes, Caretaker Park,” he said quietly.
“Firstly, you should call me Jimin.”

“Eyes on me. They won’t hear you unless you want them to, right? You have to press a button for them to hear you.” Caretaker Park’s eyes shifted towards the speaker button next to Jungkook’s bed. “It is nice of them to give you at least that much privacy. My name is Jimin, Park Jimin. And I’d like you to call me Jimin.”
“I can’t,” Jungkook whispered.
Or, for years Jungkook has only known his daily routine, the sometimes changing Caretakers, the needles, the tests, that is his normal. But it is all to keep him safe. “Is that why you always let him get away?”
“I don’t let him do anything,” Jungkook grits out, an aggravated flush creeping up his neck. “He’s just annoyingly good at climbing walls and memorising escape routes.”
Taehyung laughs, loud and bright. “Whatever helps you sleep at night, Jeon.”
