Kokichi had been prepared for a lot of things to happen when he’d put on the VR headset.
Mostly, he’d been expecting Miu to try to kill him. That hadn’t ended up happening for some reason; instead he’d been pulled out of the digital world early, with no warning or explanation beyond a sudden flash of light and his avatar being sucked off the map.
Kokichi had been prepared for a lot of things, but waking up in Kaito Momota’s body hadn’t been one of them.

"The hell are you doing looking all damn gloomy in the corner?" Kuzuryuu spoke in his usual brusque speech. Komaeda blinked at him as Kuzuryuu invited himself to one of the empty chairs, unceremoniously dropping down onto it.
"I'm not doing anything in particular," Nagito replied with ease. He gestured to his still full teacup. "Just enjoying my tea. It is a tea party, I'm sure that's mostly the point."
Some social events just weren't for everybody (though that doesn't stop Kuzuryuu from complaining).
