    Summary

    “This is childish.”

“I’m just asking if you want a turn on the pool float.”

“No, I do not want a turn on the pool float!” Ratio groans, exasperation spilling forth. “This is entirely unnecessary and immature—”

“Fine,” Aventurine interjects, effectively pausing the doctor’s tirade. “Then don’t. But you should know that the duck will be saddened by your rejection.” He throws Ratio a knowing glance. “As will I.”

Ratio exhales a weary breath, lifting a hand to signal a pause. He takes a moment to steady himself before coming to a decision.

“You are unbelievable,” he mutters beneath his breath. “Fine. I will try the damned thing.”

Following their tribulations in Penacony, Aventurine and Ratio receive an unexpected gift from Jade—a much-needed vacation at at the most exclusive resort in the cosmos.

With only each other, the sun, and the beach for company, it's a stark contrast to their everyday lives. As they struggle with the complicated shift in their relationship, a disappearance at the hotel, and the constant battle to keep their emotions in check, it all threatens to unravel completely.

    Summary

In his line of work? Well, being a beta wasn’t always advantageous. Most of the people he worked with- most people in positions of power in general were alphas. And most weren’t the reasonable kind, either. (People with money were rarely sane or reasonable.) They would only see eye to eye with another alpha, and a beta like Aventurine wouldn’t be able to convince them of a thing. But an omega? They flew under the radar- they were underestimated. An omega as pretty as Aventurine could bat their eyelashes and it be worth more than an hour of negotiations.

Aventurine is a beta, who lives as an omega. This causes more complications than he expected.

    Summary

Dr. Ratio has been invited as a guest speaker to the IPC's show, Keeping Up With Star Rail. This is not at all surprising to him, given how knowledgeable he is on Aventurine's skill sets—both as a strategic partner, and as a combatant.

What is a surprise, however, is how far Aventurine will go to indulge him.

    Summary

He is just a man. Slightly smaller than average, nearly a head shorter than Ratio himself, but a man nonetheless.

They have worked together for years. Why is he only now so.. bothered, by the size of him? Is that the correct word to describe these emotions? Was it a singular incident that spawned this fascination, or a compounding number of many smaller incidents? Why?

    "Hey, doctor?"

Dr. Ratio is distracted by how small Aventurine is compared to him, his classroom forums have noticed his different demeanor, and Aventurine really just wants to get this mission done.

    Summary

“So, you admit you were wrong. I am nothing but a foolish drunkard, after all,” Aventurine says with a laugh.

“Not quite.” Ratio shakes his head. “You are not like the other fools. You are not drunk on fate or destiny. Only on reckless abandon.”

“And you on soft sentimentality,” Aventurine counters with a grin. “Look carefully, doc! I’m just a drunk man. Drunk on success, drunk on his own pitiable luck, and…” Aventurine drops his arms, letting them hang limply beside him. He hiccups, grin morphing into a lop-sided smirk. “And drunk on you, my dear doctor.”
