Summary
“Aren’t you always running around in costumes and various states of undress?” he asks.
“Yeah, alright, guilty as charged. It’s just a bit of fun isn’t it?”
Jordan nods at Kevin’s near-empty glass, standing to retrieve the bottle of wine from the kitchen and refill both of their glasses. He’s fortunately put the glasses and bottle down when his foot catches on the rug on the coffee table, catching his balance enough to send him sprawled on the ground.
“Shit, are you okay, Jordan?” comes out of Kevin’s mouth before he can think better than to swear in front of the man who is arguably still a journalist.
“I’m alright, I’m alright,” Jordan affirms. “Just weak at the knees around you, I guess.”
Kevin laughs at that, but becomes acutely aware of the former model on his knees on the floor in front of him. Some part of his brain is formulating a response to that tune, but Jordan beats him to it. For the best really, to save him from a failed attempt at humour in front of him.
“Bet there are interviewers you’d sooner have on their knees for you?”

Summary
John is sick of all of them. Of the rum drinkers, and the rum makers, the shop owners and farmers. He can’t stand the officers of the law in their uniforms; not least to say of the natives who occasionally descend on town. It’s awful. What should be Autumn is instead coming with a return of heat, and the closest to leaves changing colour is the wattle trees yellowing with bloom.
Even with reasonable weather, the sheep he tends have no interest in growing wool of good quality. This is in spite of any attempts to buy grass seed or improve the fields, which instead seem to only serve in fattening the wombats and kangaroos who laze around. Goulburn seems to be the place for lazing around. Despite the growing township, there’s a dearth of those who want to work hard. Even convicts, on their sentences of hard labour, seem to be more interested in eyeing the few women in town or drinking than in the work through which they will earn the right to society once more.

Summary
Alex rolls over onto her back. She stretches her arms over her head and relishes in how much more relaxed her muscles feel. Aleksa keeps his eyes on her face, not wanting to be told off for admiring her (admittedly beautiful) tits.
“Come on babe,” she laughs. “I know you love them.”
Aleksa shakes his head. “No, I don’t want to be heckling you about sex while you’ve got your period.”
“That’s what makes it worse,” Alex says. She covers her face with her hands and groans, fighting for words. “I’m so fucking horny now but it’s just gross and as soon as I start doing anything the gross outweighs the horny and I give up.”
Silence falls for just long enough to have Alex worrying that she’s said the wrong thing. She shifts her hands from her face to look at Aleksa. From the slight wonder and concern in his eyes, she doesn’t know what he’s thinking.
“I mean, I could help.” He speaks slowly, in almost the same tone of voice he uses when trying to convince Alex of a video idea. He doesn’t want to scare her off, but earnestly wants her as interested in it as he is. “If you - if you want.”

“It’s like you’ve got the fucking zoomies,” Aleksa laughs.
“Woof woof,” Alex says, enunciating the words with a roll of his eyes.
“Maybe I should get you a chew toy.” Aleksa glances at the shards of plate in the dustpan. “It might save our kitchenware.”
He would have to be blind to miss the blush spreading onto Alex’s face. He could be forgiven for not noticing the way his friend’s gaze falls upon his fingers, but he does. Alex recovers enough to raise an eyebrow in a parody of seduction.
“I mean, I could chew on something,” he drawls. “Or suck.”

Summary
Not wanting it to go to waste, Hasan shifts his hand to lick the drops of milk from his fingers. Aleksa rubs her hand reassuringly on his cheek, continuing with her murmurs of “good boy” and “yes, just like that”.
“Thank you, mommy.”
The words are out of his mouth without even thinking. Despite being more than ready to press his mouth back to her nipple and continue his efforts, alarm bells set off in Hasan’s brain. He moves to rest on his kneels and build distance between Aleksa and himself as his mind scrambles for what to say.
“Fuck - Aleksa I didn’t mean -”
She interrupts him by using her grip on his hair to pull him in for a kiss. It’s as though she’s exploring his mouth for traces of the taste of her.
“It’s okay baby,” she says. “Let mommy look after you.”

Billy hadn’t realized when he’d opened Tinder while crying into his cider about the last of many supposedly relationship-ending fights with Cornelius that swiping right on “John, 28” meant signing up to hold his hand through Gay Sex 101.
