    Summary

A child who is not embraced by the village will burn it down to feel its warmth.

Vought did not create Homelander first.
Before him, there was Ellie. Their first success. A little girl with impossible strength and the dangerous habit of loving people who were kind to her.
They thought attachment would make her loyal.
Instead, it made her impossible to own.
So when Vought built John, they corrected the mistake and made sure no one would ever be close enough to teach him what love was before they taught him what power could do.
Years later, Homelander finds Ellie alive, hidden away from the world that made them both. She has his power, but not his emptiness. She has a home full of people who know her, choose her, protect her, and stay.
And for the first time in his life, John finds something he cannot kill, cannot own, and cannot stop wanting.

    Summary

Peter Parker's new upstairs neighbor is too nice, too tall, and keeps leaving first-aid kits by his door like he knows something.

Clark Kent's downstairs neighbor is too skinny, too tired, and keeps coming home bleeding through his hoodie like he thinks no one notices.

It takes a broken rib, a bent skillet, and one very awkward conversation for them to realize they're both dorks and nerds.

    Summary

“You misunderstand my intentions.” The woman got stiffly to her feet, leaning both thin hands on the table and bringing herself several inches closer to your face. The energy in the room became immediately darker, thicker, and more commanding. It took real effort not to lean back and keep the distance. “I am not here to convince you, or recruit you. I am simply here to retrieve you. The helicopter is waiting up at the main building.”

You opened your mouth to retort, to argue, but one hand raised by the woman had you swallowing any hope of dissent. She leaned back to rap two knuckles against the door, an action that immediately summoned two broad men from the hallway. Though you couldn’t see their expressions, your face paled at the view of their readily-wielded assault rifles and bodygear. The European woman offered only a tight smile in return. “I have the full force of the US army on my side, and we are- well, as you would put it- kidnapping you to save the world."

“Human male, enhanced, mid-forties,” Bruce read out from his tablet, stepping around Homelander’s cot with a brief, surveying look at the man. “Vulnerability to…zinc and other Earth compounds. Minor muscle atrophy noted. Possibly from lack of full development during childhood. Other--”

“The suit is padded,” Clark cut in, staring at Homelander’s legs. “You’re wearing a padded suit?”
