Summary
But when Till looks back at Mizi, she's staring with a stuck look on her face, as if someone used glue to freeze her features in that expression of— shock? Grief? Like she was reminded horribly what she—
“Ivan!” She bursts out, bouncing over to him in quick skips. She says something Till can't hear, frozen on the spot, and Mizi laughs. Similarly, Ivan grins at her.
It's a gorgeous scene, Till idly notes. The florescent light dapples color onto their skin in the bar, blue on Mizi's side and red on Ivan's. They intermingle in their hair and face, tinting it a faint purple, highlighting Ivan's pristine teeth and Mizi's shaking shoulders. Till finds himself stroking an imaginary pencil across the picture, painting the minute details before it gets washed out, blurred away from his memory.
Ignoring the sudden feeling of his stomach dropping to the floor, and clenching his fists. They look good. Of course they do. So, why does Till feel like clawing his way through multiple canvases?
Or;
The kiss in Round 6 never happens. Here's the aftermath.

Summary
Rudo gingerly touches the clothing, hesitant in a way he couldn't have known the reason to. It's just a piece of cloth, he thinks to himself. Hovering over the shorts, he almost doesn't want to know why he wants to avoid the thing. It locks his muscles up and makes his fingers twitch inside the glove. Was it the fact it was Zanka's? He can't imagine him wearing something so casual and... non-Zanka like.
"Don' worry, it ain't gunna bite ya." Zanka murmurs from the closet, apparently having taken a sneak at Rudo, who jumps at the quip, mentally wrangling with some flimsy shorts.
Or;
An odd moment before the pool, and all that it entails.

Summary
Yeah, Jiang Cheng thought, sleepy and pissed off, no one can say no to my A-Jie.
Not even me, he relents.
Because A-Jie just told him to bring the Second Jade of Lan into one of their clinic rooms and patch him up first, while she cooks up something warm for all of them.

Summary
"Did you know that tomorrow's full moon is a blood moon?" Goro says, apropos of nothing.
"Nope." Ren glances back up at the moon again. Its familiar cratered face gazes back at him patiently, but all of a sudden he feels like he's seeing it in all its loveliness for the first time. "...Are you looking at it right now?"
"Do you want me to be?" Goro shoots back, the playful dip of his voice sending Ren's stomach swooping. Do you want me to be? God, he's such an asshole.
Ren wishes Goro could hear him roll his eyes over the phone. "It's a yes or no question."
He hears rustling, and then footsteps. "Yes, I'm looking at it, too," Goro says softly.

that was actually one of the most beautiful slow burns I've ever fucking read in my entire goddamn life.
I adore this. the tone, the writing, the descriptions, the pining, the way they wrote akechi and ren. the way they are so ill and so well suited for each other it makes me sick with laughter and fondness. this is exactly how I've always craved to read these days. a big fest of hurt/comfort with a happy ending and a lot of uncertainties in the way. it's amazing. I love it a lot. I love this so much. thank u for writing this.

Summary
Ren has never been so relieved to see a disgruntled expression in his life. His features are all the same as Ren remembers, nothing monstrous or out of place, just pure Akechi Goro—part annoyed and part irate.
Akechi’s eyes widen. They glow almost red in the sunlight. For a second, he looks genuinely, unobstructedly surprised.
“Amamiya,” Akechi says, and his voice is the best thing Ren has heard in months. “What are you doing here?”

this is. like. one of the best shits ive ever fucking read in my entire life. when I said "yk it would've been pretty interesting if joker had a palace" even if it wasn't possible. but this? ohmygod. it's exactly what I wanted it to be. it's so good. I adore it wholeheartedly.
--- spoilers below this line ---
Goro smiles at him, and there’s something brittle in it. Something forlorn. And then there’s a mask slipping over Goro’s vulnerable face—a pleasant facade Ren doesn’t want to interact with, the honesty disappearing in one quick stroke.
“You—” Ren starts again, but whatever he can see in Goro’s eyes cuts him off quickly.
Gently swiping a thumb across Ren’s cheekbone, Goro leans in to kiss him again. He tilts Ren’s chin upwards. He kisses Ren this time like a man drowning.
Goro looks at Ren, who can no longer discern a single emotion on his face.
When Ren opens his mouth, Goro shakes his head.
His tone is soft, almost sad when he says, “Perhaps upon meeting in the real world again, we can work something out.”
“Goro—”
“You’re awfully difficult to lose to.” Goro looks Ren directly in his eyes. His expression is guarded. “But you’re even more difficult to lose.”
-“No,” Ren replies. “I’m just not really interested in sharing my experiences with Goro with you.”
“Cute,” Joker whistles. “It’s about time, anyway. You should see the way he looks at you when you aren’t looking.”
Ren feels a warm heat spread across his cheeks. It—Goro looks at him—and looks enamored enough that Joker took notice?
He is so taken aback and pleasantly flustered by that statement that he almost misses the oddity. “How would you know that?”
“I told you,” Joker says, throwing his hands behind his neck. He finishes his juice box, squeezing it in its middle until it crumples. “I see you guys. I might not rule this place, but I’ve got eyes.”
“Right.”
“I would’ve started a betting pool, but, y’know, it’s not like I’ve got anyone to bet against. I can’t really have you bet against your own love life, right?”
“It’s hardly a love life.”
“Okay, so what do you call getting absolutely wrecked by the boy whose glove you carried around for like, a year?”
Ren looks down. “Not dating, apparently.”
Joker clicks his tongue. He seems weirdly invested in this whole thing, and Ren really, really doesn’t want to give him any ammunition. Whenever Ren talks about Goro with Joker—despite the mask covering his eyes—Ren can see the change in Joker’s expression, the slight perk up of his head and widening of his eyes. He reminds Ren of himself. He doesn’t like that.
-After a few rounds of rummy, two where Joker wins and one where Ren barely manages to snag a win—and sees genuine surprise on Joker’s face—Joker says—
“Are you sure you want to end this?”
“Excuse me?” Ren holds his cards close to his chest.
“You heard me. Why are you so intent on stopping these? You haven’t accomplished a single thing you set out to do. You haven’t even managed to pry open that door.”
Ren scoffs. “Because—because it’s what Goro wants.”
“Is it what you want?” Joker says, suddenly serious.
-“Be gentle with me though,” Ren says, batting his eyelashes as obnoxiously as he can.
Goro scoffs. “I hope the number of stairs doubles.”
“Don’t say that!” Ren waves his hands frantically. “It could actually happen!”
“Good,” Goro smirks. “Don’t think you can keep up?”
Ren sighs. “It’s not that.”
Goro blinks. Then he remedies his statement by saying, “Don’t fall off the stairs. I won’t catch you if you do.”
“I’ve never fallen down the stairs before,” Ren mutters. “You won’t be my knight in shining armor? My prince?”
“I think we both know I’m nothing like either of those things,” Goro says, sneering. “So I would hope you don’t expect them.”
“My hero,” Ren says, draping his head and torso over Goro’s outstretched legs.
Goro looks down at him, his arms raised like he doesn’t know what to do with them. His eyes widen a tad when Ren smiles at him.
“You’re like a cat,” he offers eventually.
Ren’s smile grows. “Thank you. You have an awfully comfortable lap, you know.”
Goro leans down. Ren feels the tips of his hair against his cheeks. “I would assume so. You did spend an awfully long time on it last time, didn’t you?”
“Ah—ahaha,” Ren stammers, his face warm. God damn it, how does he keep catching Ren off guard?

Summary
Mike is no stranger to a little moral ambiguity, and mind reading is far more harmless than burying a body without telling anyone. So he dives in. Will smiles at him, and Mike prompts his brain to figure out why.
He finds nothing.
This is… odd.
OR
Mike gets telepathic powers randomly, three years after Vecna’s defeat. He tunes into people’s thoughts, expecting every guy’s mind to be like his. When he finds surprisingly few gay thoughts about best friends, he’s forced to re-evaluate and see if maybe it’s just him? (it is.)
It doesn’t help that the one mind he wants to read the most seems to be set to a different frequency entirely.

Bookmarker's Notes
When they finally speak, it’s Will who murmurs into Mike’s hair. “You caught up.”
“I did.”
“I didn’t even have to pull you along.”
Mike laughs. “I mean, kind of. Pulling my belt like that? Jesus, Will.”
“Okay yeah, sure. But the other stuff, that was all you.”
Will runs his fingers through Mike’s hair in a way that feels practiced and reverent. Mike’s eyes flutter shut, and he feels emboldened enough to ask.
“I’m not… late, am I? To this?” He feels a kiss against his temple.
“Not at all.”
“Like it’s not gonna make it… different, or less good, because it took me…”
Will pushes him gently back and up so he can grab his face with both hands and kiss his lips firmly. He makes sure Mike is looking at him when he pulls back.
“I promise it’s not.”
that was cute and sweet I like it. I really like it.
