Summary
Kaminari doesn't mean to befriend Shinsou using the exact same techniques one would use for befriending a feral stray cat, it just kind of happens. He doesn't really intend to end up dating him either, that also just kind of happens, but he's thrilled about it nonetheless. Crucially, both of these things happen under the cover of night, when Shinsou's insomnia and Kaminari's quirk keep them both up far later than the rest of their peers. Meaning nobody has any idea any of this is happening until they're busting out never before seen forms of PDA at movie night and accidentally traumatizing Iida, twice. Then the Bakusquad is let in on it, and things just kind of devolve into chaos from there.

Denki had expected his own mother to cry first, followed by his sister or father, and maybe Ashido, Midoriya or Kirishima a few rows away, but it was none of them. They were quick to follow, of course, but when Hitoshi let out a massive gasp and pushed his face into both of his hands, everything seemed to stop. Everyone’s attention was on Hitoshi, not the priest reciting sutras at the front.
Denki had never seen Hitoshi cry before.

I’m home,” Denki calls toeing off his shoes in the genkan. “And I have a gift for you!”“A gift,” Hitoshi repeats aloud as he goes to meet his boyfriend in the genkan. “Does this gift have to do with the unusual three am traf-,” Hitoshi gets to the doorway connecting the genkan to the kitchen and stops talking as his gaze lands on a bundle of fur in Denki’s arms.
Denki beams at him with a blinding smile, “Happy late birthday lover!” His boyfriend holds out the bundle of chocolate fur, green eyes blinking at him.
‘Mew!’ The kitten cries while wiggling to try and get out of Denki’s hands.
