Roommate Needed: Fully furnished bedroom, personal bathroom, fully stocked kitchen, and two awesome, drop-dead gorgeous roommates.

That's what the ad said anyways.

Rumi thought it was too good to be true, and too lucky for her to have just stumbled across. Either this place wasn't actually as nice as it seemed, or the two people living there couldn't keep a third roommate. Rumi shuddered to think about the countless reasons why that could be, her mind coming up with nothing good.

OR Rumi, a half-demon, has never stayed in one place for too long. She thinks she might finally be able make a life for herself after moving in with Mira, a vampire, and Zoey, a werewolf. The only problem: she can't let them know she's a demon.

    Summary

Rumi's meeting gets cut short and she comes home early. Zoey and Mira are not expecting her.

"She knew Mira. She knew. 3 years she's known and known and said NOTHING." The final word was another scream, another wrenching full body swing of the mace.

    "We weren't exactly forthcoming ourselves."

"3 years of thinking we didn't want her, that we chose to not have her, that we were hiding from her."

"We were hiding." We did choose.

The mace swings again, two handed, shaft flexing under the blow.

"3 years of choking back the screams, crying into pillows, sneaking about, lying. Trying to get Bobby to set up that trust without asking any questions. Oh god Mira, is this why she never comes to the bathhouse? Is she giving us space to get our freak on?"

"Maybe. We have after all. Remember Busan?"

    "Not helping Mira!"

    Summary

After a devastating betrayal and a failed attempt to erase herself from the lives of the people she loves most, Rumi becomes trapped in a cruel time loop where every attempt to die only drags her back to the same morning. A mysterious force they know as the Honmoon refuses to let her go, desperately trying to keep her soul intact while insisting she can still “fix” something. As the cycle repeats over and over, Rumi slowly begins to unravel under the weight of grief, self-hatred, and the terrifying possibility that she is being forced to survive for a reason.

    Summary

She is the dog that bites when a hand extends itself to feed, the dog that is wrong down to its very bones, down to the marrow, down to something genetic and intrinsic and unchangeable, the dog they put down to spare it its own misery.

She wishes it were as simple as a matter of guilt. Guilt for hurting them, for hiding, for lying, because maybe she could’ve fixed that, because guilt, at least, would’ve meant that she’s only done something wrong.

Shame is knowing that she is something wrong.

    Or

Rumi doesn’t run when the girls find her backstage.

    Summary

“Rumi?” Mira questioned uncertainly. The demons had frozen as well, staring at Rumi as she stared back. The tense silence stretched. The hallway felt like the oxygen had been sucked out and the dim lighting cast shadows all around.

“Rumi, there’s no such thing as half demons. We would know. Celine would have told us. It has to be a trick….” Zoey said but it was clear she still had her own reservations.

And what could Rumi say to that? Celine had said she could find no records of any other half demons, not anywhere in the archive. How could hunters have never encountered a single half demon in the nearly 800 years since the honmoon was created? What were the chances they would meet them now, in this generation, when Rumi herself was one? It felt like a trap. It had to be a trap.

    But…

    “Rumi?”

“She’s bleeding.” She said softly. “Demons don’t bleed.”
