“Enjoy your luncheon, Ainosuke-sama,” he said, swallowing down bile as he held the car door open and gave a little bow.
Ainosuke paused next to him and Tadashi waited, not yet closing the door. Holding onto it helped steady him anyways.
“Tadashi.”
“Yes, Ainosuke-sama?” Tadashi asked, neutrally as possible. He didn’t know what that tone meant and that bothered him. He knew Ainosuke better than anyone. Knew everything about him. But he was at a complete loss as to what Ainosuke would say next.
Nothing, as it turned out. Ainosuke glanced at him from the corner of his eye, then returned his gaze forward, jaw clenched. With a soft, slightly irritated hmph to himself, he left without another word to Tadashi and strode confidently into the hotel.
To a lunch with a prospective marriage candidate arranged by his aunts.
