“You’re nothing like Theseus,” the blackguard said to Asterius. “Why go along with everything he says and does? You’re your own man. And bull.”
Theseus nearly lunged out of the stands. Of course Asterius was his own man-and-bull! This foul daemon, presuming to have even the faintest understanding of the nature of their bond—
Asterius was nothing like Theseus. And he was infinitely better for it.
“King Theseus slew me in life, and saved me in death,” said Asterius, evenly. “I was cast into Erebus. A monster. He found me when he died. And used his influence to bring me here, with him.”
“That’s nice of him and all, but sounds like you’re even to me.” Was the daemon’s voice more grating than usual? Or was it just Theseus’ phantasmagorical blood rushing in his ears? “Seeing as he killed you in the first place.”
Theseus desperately wanted to hear Asterius’ response. But he feared knowing Asterius’ reply even more. Before he could think better of it, Theseus jumped to his feet and rushed out of the chamber.
Theseus deals poorly with Asterius' burgeoning respect for his hated opponent.

Summary
“You fought well,” the man spoke through heavy breath. “You honor me with battle and I will honor you in death.”
Honor was foreign to the beast but he knew of death. He tried wetting his dry lips as he struggled to form what little words he remembered into a question.
“Will honor save me from the pain?” The minotaur asked as his eyes flickered, losing focus on the golden figure.
The man’s eyes widened in what the minotaur would take for fear. How strange, to only be afraid of him as he is dying.

Summary
To no one’s surprise, existing as a lowly Addison... followed by the live-fast BIG SHOT [Cungadero] lifestyle... taking an unwanted acid bath and being homeless (if you didn’t count the dumpster) and then BEATEN UP BY CHILDREN... none of this does a body any good. Particularly not when said body is sad and stunted, made of wood and fluff.
It also no longer looks great in a suit jacket, which is perhaps the biggest shame.
Or:
Hanging around Castle Town after his battle with the [Sponge]s, Spamton meets an old flame again, and has to reassess everything he thought he knew about his ruined body.
